Technological innovation applied to sustainable agriculture and beekeeping

Through the Laboratory for the Automation of Agricultural Technology Processes (LAPTA), the Institute for Agricultural Business Research (INNA), in collaboration with [UNTRM](https://www.untrm.edu.pe?utm_source=chatgpt.com) and [Terra Nuova](https://www.terranuova.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com), has been promoting the development of innovative technologies aimed at providing solutions to the health, production and environmental challenges facing the agricultural sector.

As part of these initiatives, the APISENSE project is being implemented: an intelligent beehive monitoring system that integrates sensors, IoT connectivity, monitoring platforms and artificial intelligence for the real-time analysis of production and health variables in beekeeping. This technology will enable the generation of early warnings, optimise the technical management of beehives and strengthen data-driven sustainable beekeeping.

Furthermore, LAPTA is developing image processing projects using drones equipped with LiDAR sensors, multispectral cameras and artificial intelligence applied to the agricultural sector. These technologies enable the early identification of pests and diseases, the quantification of severity and incidence in coffee crops, the monitoring of water stress, plant health and nutrition, as well as the generation of land cover and topography maps to strengthen precision agriculture and optimise decision-making in the field. Furthermore, they contribute to the monitoring and conservation of agroecosystems through advanced analysis of geospatial and agricultural data.

Through these initiatives, LAPTA and INNA are strengthening applied research, technology transfer and innovation aimed at the sustainable development of agriculture in the Amazonas region. Furthermore, with the support of Terra Nuova, they are promoting agricultural competitiveness within the scope of the BLF Andes Amazónico project in Peru.
